Rescue stories ASAP

Four puppies who were due to be terminated have been saved and found new homes with residents of the island. The photos show the puppies posing with their new owners and the puppies playing on a local beach. A happy outcome for ASAP and all concerned.
Trigger was a working horse from the Old Village for many years, carrying goods in and rubbish out. ASAP became involved when he was discovered in a poor state of health, and living in abysmal conditions. Several volunteers took on the task of caring for him at his dwelling in the Old Village, but it was clear the location and facilities were far form ideal. Because of this, mucking out his area and getting food and water to him was very difficult, so he had to be moved - see below.
ASAP convinced the owner to let him be cared for by ASAP, and now he is living out his retirement in the grounds of Julia's house at Vouno. Since he has been there, a new comfortable stable has been built and paid for from donations and events (see Home page photograph). One event being the end of season party, organised by the Fund Raising Group of Alonissos, to thank everybody for their efforts during the year and to futher raise funds for Trigger.
This kitten was found abandoned by an ASAP member under a palet, covered with logs . After more than a week, she was eventually enticed out with food and now lives with that ASAP member. Her name is Mitsi, and she is now slowly intergrating with the many other rescued cats in the family.
Found abandoned by some waste bins in Votsi, this kitten was taken in by ASAP members and is now called Smokey, being a rare pure gey colour.
This is Orionie, found dumped in a waste bin with two other kittens, she was rescued by, and now lives with some committee members in the village of Votsi. She is a beautiful tabby with blue eyes and a white star on her chest. Unfortunately, homes could not be found for the rest of her family, so they had to be put to sleep.
Ginge was rescued from the Old Village of Alonnisos where he was living rough with 12 other cats. He was subsequently transported to a new home in Switzerland by our good friend Ellen, and now lives happily with his new family in the country.
The first picture shows two kittens who were found living under a garbage truck. They were rescued but regrettably Barnie, on the left in the photo, died after a month from enteritis. The remaining kitten, Dinky, is thankfully doing well.
